Mrs. Gaila Booth
Welcome to Olmos Elementary School! Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, I am excited to introduce myself and welcome you to another wonderful school year.
My name is Gaila Booth, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Olmos Elementary. This year marks my twelfth year as principal at Olmos and more than 30 years in education. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching every subject and grade level from Pre-K through 6th grade, coaching a variety of sports, and serving students in many different roles. I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University, and I joined North East ISD in 2014 after serving in Harlandale ISD. Every step of my journey has strengthened my passion for helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching and playing sports, hiking, and traveling. These experiences remind me of the importance of curiosity, perseverance, and lifelong learning—qualities we strive to instill in every child at Olmos.
At Olmos Elementary, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student is known by "name and need." Our dedicated teachers and staff work collaboratively to deliver a rigorous curriculum aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) while providing both enrichment and intervention opportunities to help every child reach their full potential.
We also know that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to student success. Research consistently shows that students achieve more when families are actively involved in their education. I encourage you to stay connected, participate in school events, volunteer when possible, and communicate regularly with your child's teacher. Together, we can create an outstanding educational experience for every student.
If you ever have questions or concerns, I encourage you to begin by contacting your child's teacher. Please know that my door is always open, and I am happy to meet with you or speak by phone. As the instructional leader of Olmos Elementary, I am committed to making decisions that are always in the best interest of our students.
I look forward to partnering with each of you as we make this school year one filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Thank you for entrusting us with your children. It is truly a privilege to serve the Olmos community.
I can't wait to meet all of our new and returning students and families. Here's to an amazing year ahead!
